I hope you all have a lovely day. Remember to take regular learning breaks and to do your daily reading at a time that suits you and your adult.

Literacy

  • We are thinking about homes around the world and the different houses there are. Read the book below to find out about different houses. This is a non-fiction book, discuss with your adult the features of a non-fiction book and how they differ to a fiction book.
  • Discuss with your adult the different homes you saw in the story. Use your own words to describe what they look like. What material are they made from? What shape are they? etc.
  • Choose your favourite house and draw a detail picture of this, remembering to look closely and add detail to your picture.
  • Read the story again with your adult. Can you read some of the words yourselves? Try and sound out any words you are unsure of. Did you spot any of our tricky words when reading? I hope they didn't trick you!

  • Read the tricky words on our trick word lists. How many can you read now?
  • We are going to learning how to spell the tricky word - 'go'. Say the word and write it down and then read the word. Spot the tricky bit of the word. The 'o' is the tricky part as we can hear the 'g' at the beginning of the word. Now have a go at spelling the word. Did you spell it correctly?
Lunch Time - Have a delicious lunch everyone and a well deserved learning break.

Session 3 - Mathematics

  • We are learning the names of 3D (solid) shapes. Listen to the song below and see if you can name the shapes.
  • Let's go on another shape hunt and see what solid shapes we can find today. See if you can find a sphere, cone, cylinder, cube and pyramid.
  • Once you have found your shapes, talk about their properties with your adult i.e. a cone has a circle at the bottom and a point at the top.
  • Describe each shape in your own words.
Session 4 - Singing
  • Enjoy the counting songs below. Have fun whilst you count.
Session 5 - Story
  • Let's all enjoy an end of day story
