Have a look at Roald Dahl's books; read some of his stories and write a book review or a character description. Look at the Year 3 and 4 common exception words and our Year 3 Spring Term 1 SPAG sheets.
Keep up with your reading on Bug Club, if you have forgotten your Bug Club login details, email your teacher and they will send them to you.

Have a look at Top Marks, there are lots of spelling and grammar, punctuation, stories, reading and poetry activites for you to explore.
Can you write a story in no more than 200 words? It can be as creative as you like! Have a go, if possible, ask an adult to help you email it me, I would love to read them!!

Week Beginning 20/04/20
This week's topic theme is animals. Check your email to see which pages you need to read and which questions to answer.
Have a look at this example from the Egypt topic and try to label all the different features. There is a main heading, sub headings, paragraphs, pictures and captions. Non chronological means that it doesn't have to come in any particualr order - it doesn't matter which paragraph comes first, second etc.
This week's writing task is for you to write a non chronological report about an animal of your choice. Use books you may have at home and the internet to do some research. You could write a paragraph about your animal's habitat, diet or what it looks like. It is up to you! I'm looking forward to seeing them, please send them to email@example.com

This week's writing task is to write a reciepe - you can choose what to make! I am looking for you to include all the features on the list. I have loved seeing all the writing you have sent in over the past few weeks, but I know you can give me more! I am going to be awarding a prize for 3 pieces of work where I think you have put n maximum effort. Think about what I ask for in a Big Write. VCOP!!!

This week, Year 3 are in school where we are working on persuasion activities. After looking at different examples of brochures and leaflets, their task is to write a brochure to advertise their favourite place in the UK. It can be a day trip or a holiday destination, using the checklist to help.

This week your Literacy activities are in the pack you collected from school. You have a reading comprehension, a character profile, a story planning sheet and a SPAG worksheet. You can use all the sentences you have created over the past few weeks to make your story really interesting. Please send us a photo of your finished story - we love reading you work!

And just like that - we are in our last week of year 3! Can I take this opportunity to say how much we have loved teaching you this year, you have been such a pleasure to be around and we are going to miss your smiles!
Your literacy task for this week is to write a letter to Mrs Gomes and Mrs Holloway.
Paragraph One - We would like to know what you are proud of achieving while you were in year 3. Have you got better at times tables? Are you more confident? Are you better at spelling? Can you use more interesting vocabulary in your sentences? Do you know more about the Egyptians and World War 2?
Paragraph Two - What are your favourite memories of our trip to Murton Park and our visitors that came to school to teach us about Egypt and World War 2? Did you enjoy dressing up and learning the 'Walk like an Egyptian' dance? Did you find it interesting to look at all the second world war objects? What was your favourite activity from Murton Park? Why? How did it make you feel to be an evacuee for the day?
Paragraph Three - What are you looking forward to in year 4? Is there a subject you really like and think you will be good at next year? Are you looking forward to being with your new teachers? What do you know about them already? You will have Mrs Marsden, Mrs Salter and Miss Ducker. Is there a particular friend you think will support you in year 4? Why are they your friend? How could you support that friend?
