Week beginning 20/04/20

This week our topic is animals. We would like you to keep a tally of the animals you see in your outside space. This could be your garden or outside on your daily exercise. You can use the tally chart below to record what you see. When you have enough data (it could take you a day or a few days to get enough to tally) then you need to use the data and put it into a bar chart. There is a template below that you could use, or you can draw your own usng the template as an example. Now write at least 5 questions that someone can answer by using your bar chart. For example - Which animal was seen the most? How many more of one animal were there compared to another?

Something we would like to you to keep up with is your addition and subtraction skills. Check your email to see which booklet to do and try to do a bit each day. Don't worry if you can't do ot all! This should take you at least a week even if you are a maths wizz!

Week beginning 27/04/20

This week our topic is food so we would love to see photos of you using weighing scales and other equipment at home. I have attached a sheet about reading scales on a measuring jug - have a go!

I have attached a booklet with lots of multiplication and divison practice. Don't worry if you don't get through it all, just try to do a bit every day.

The work for this week is in your pack. Please look at the work on time. See if you can challenge yourself and make your own timetable - this can be for the day - activities at home - or a timetable for a train - where is it going from and too? What time will it arrive and depart different stations along the way?

This week we are trying something a little different to try to boost your motivational levels! This link is taken from Oaks Academy Trust (a school in West Yorkshire) and it contains lessons for the past few weeks, as well as this week. It has different subject areas included so take a look and see how you get on. There are quizzes at the start and end of each maths and Literacy lesson to start to get you thinking. There is a tab at the top with each day of the week on. Take a look at the maths for this week, it's exciting to try something new!
