Look at White Rose Maths, Year 5 home learning, Summer Term Week 11. This covers: regular and irregular shapes, reasoning about 3D shapes, and reflections and translations.

Week commencing 20th April

Look at White Rose Maths, Year 5 home learning, weeks 1 and 2. This introduces decimals and rounding decimals. It gives you a video to watch so that you can learn about decimals and complete the questions given. The questions start easier and get harder to provide challenge, so complete the ones that you feel most confident with.

Get a piece of paper and show everything you know about multiplication and division. This could be pictures, diagrams, explanations, methods etc. Be as creative as you want to be.

Practise knowledge of multiples by placing them into this Carroll diagram.

Continue the daily arithmetic questions for different areas of maths. Remember to aim to work on level 4, 5 and 6 activities.

Week commencing 30th March

 

  • Continue to work on Times Table Rock Stars. Don’t forget, you can also access Numbots with the same login.
  • Get a piece of paper and create a poster to show everything you know about addition and subtraction. This could be pictures, diagrams, explanations, methods etc. Don’t forget to be as creative as you want to be.

 

  • Play on Hit the Button - focus on times tables, division facts and squared numbers.

 

If you fancy a challenge, you could work on your reasoning and problem solving by practising past SATs questions. These are based on older papers so are suitable for both Year 5 and 6. They are broken down into topic areas and have videos linked to them that can be watched if needed. Click on one of the topic areas listed to gain access to the questions.

Week commencing 23rd March

 

Continue to learn all the square numbers up to 12 x 12 and practise all multiplication tables using TTRockstars.  During the school closures TTRockstars have provided free access to NumBots too which can be accessed through the same site.   

 

You can also play some multiplication and division games at multiplication.com  

 

Make up some of your own word problems using multiplication and division.
