Remember to do your daily reading with your adult at any point in the day. You have lots of books on your Bug Club accounts or choose a book from your house.

Session 1 - Literacy

  • We are going to be thinking about different buildings and the materials that they are made from. Think about your own home and talk with your adult about the materials that have been used to build your house. Can you list some of these materials?
  • Click on the power point below to look at different buildings and the materials that have been used.
  • Discuss with your adult the different materials and buildings mentioned above. Can you read some of the sentences yourself? Remember we are applying our phonic knowledge to our own reading and writing.
  • Choose 1 of the buildings above and talk about it with your adult. Can you name the materials that have been used to build it? Why were these materials chosen?
  • Draw a picture of your chosen house. Use your own writing to name the house and the materials it has built with. Try and write a sentence of your own to describe this building. Say your sentence out loud before writing. Try and remember the word order when writing your sentence.
  • I look forward to seeing your pictures and writing of your chosen building. Our pictures / paintings are improving loads as we are now learning how to add more detail to our pictures.
Session 2 - Phonics

Lunch Time - Hope you have a lovely lunch and a well deserved break.

Session 3 - Mathematics

  • This week we are going to be learning all about size. We will be thinking about measuring and we are going to be using lots of vocabulary related to this. We are going to using the vocabulary; bigger, smaller, taller, shorter, length, compare, height, order.
  • We are going to be learning how to order objects according to their size.
  • Today we are going to be focussing on taller and shorter and order objects according to their height.
  • Think about the adults in your house and think who is the tallest / shortest etc? Who is taller than you in your family and is there someone shorter than you?
  • Can you draw your adults in height order, starting with the tallest to the smallest?
  • Look at the power point below and find out which is the tallest animal on the farm. Bales of hay are used to measure their height.
  • Click on the link below to watch lots of fun ways to order by size. Try out some of these ideas yourself or maybe you can think of some different ways to order by size. Remember to try and use the key vocabulary listed above.
  • Remember to ask your adult to email me pictures of size ordering.
