I hope you have all had a lovely half term and you've been busy doing the things that you enjoy. It's lovely to be back and we are looking forward to a super half term.

Session 1 - Literacy

• We are going to be reading the story of 'Zog' written by Julia Donaldson. In this story, Zog has to go to dragon school and learn all the things that dragons need to know. After listening to the story we are going to be using our recall and sequencing skills to place the key events in the correct order. Listen to the story below.

• After listening to the story, can we recall all the things that Zog had to learn whilst at dragon school?
• Write a list of the lessons Zog had in each year group in the correct order.
• Use your own words and pictures to record the lessons that Zog had at school. Remember to try and sound out your own words when writing.
• Ask your adult to email me pictures of your work - I always love to see your pictures and writing.

Session 2 - Phonics

• Click on the video below and say the speed sounds together.

• We are going to learn a new trigraph -'ear'. Watch the video below and learn this new sound.

• Practise your blending skills by reading the captions below.

• Can you read the words from the Reception list? If you can read all these words then have a go at spelling some of them.

• If you are confident with all the Reception words, have a go at the year 1 words. Try and read the words first and then have a go at spelling some of them.

Session 3 - Mathematics

• We are going to be focussing on doubling numbers and amounts in mathematics. Listen to the song below to help you think about doubling numbers.

• Use your own digits to practise doubling i.e. 1 + 1 = ? 2 + 2 = ? 3 + 3 = ? 4 + 4 = ? 5 + 5 = ?
• Try and write these doubling number sentences and use your own digits to find the total.
• Use the slides below to help you remember the doubling number facts.

Session 4 - Singing

• Use your Charanga login details and sing some of your favourite songs. Try and do the actions as you sing along.

Session 5 - Story

• Let's enjoy an end of day story.
