Primary School

If we can dream it ... we can do it!

SMSC & British Values

At Ladywood Primary we encourage children and provide opportunities to develop spiritual, moral, social and cultural awareness. This is facilitated through our curriculum, during assemblies, lunch times, playtimes and extra-curriculum activities.

We made Christingles in class and then went down to St Luke's church for a Christingle service.

We encourage our pupils to participate in and support good causes and charities. This reinforces that there are large numbers of people both at home and overseas who are much less fortunate than ourselves and who deserve our support. We raised money for Children in Need this year by dressing up, dancing in school and taking part in a whole school competition.

We have been talking about and discussing Bullying this week as part of anti-bullying week. On Tuesday, we all wore odd socks and talked about how we are all unique and no one should be made to feel upset because of our differences.

We talked about what bullying is and explore some scenarios together, thinking about how we could ‘spread the kindness and stop the bullying’

You can explore the PowerPoint at home together below.

In september we elected our Class School Councillors. The children produced manifestos if they wanted to put themselved forward. The school council, which is elected in a democratic way, is the pupils’ opportunity to raise issues, organise events and activities for the school and put forward their suggestions for new initiatives.

Our class councillors are Jessica and Ellis.
