Remember to keep active throughout the day and to take regular learning breaks when needed. Carry out your daily reading activities at a time that suits you and your adult. Please let me know some of the books you are enjoying at home and you have lots of books too on your Bug Club accounts.

Session 1 - Mathematics

  • We are learning how to use our number lines for addition and subtraction. We are really impressed with how confident you are all becoming with your number lines and knowing when to jump forwards and backwards.
  • We are focussing on 1 less than again today. If it is 1 less than, which way will you be jumping on your number line?
  • Make a new number line or use one from earlier in the week. Remember you can make your number line go up to whichever number you wish.
  • Put your finger on your number line and count backwards in steps of 1. We are saying the number which is 1 less than. As you count backwards, notice the number which is 1 less.
  • Ask your adult to hold up a number and use your number line to find the number which is 1 less than. So you will be jumping backwards.
  • Have lots of number fun and I look forward to seeing pictures of your number line work.
  • Click on the songs below and enjoy counting backwards.

Session 3 - Topic Work

  • We are thinking of the story, 'The Three Little Pigs' in our topic work this week. Discuss this story with your adult.
  • We are going to be sequencing the key events in the correct order. Thing about how the story begins, the events that happen in the middle i.e. which house gets built first, in which order the houses get blown down and the story ending.
  • As you discuss the story with your adult, try and recall the key events in the correct order.
  • Have a go at drawing some pictures, accompanied with short captions / sentences to show the order of events.
  • Listen to the story below and notice the order of events.

Session 4 - Singing

  • Use your Charanga log in and choose some of your favourite songs. Sing along and join in with the actions.
  • Click on the song, 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes'. Enjoy singing along and remember to do the actions.
