Mathematics

  • Say the numbers 0 to 10 in the correct order. Then count beyond 10 - can you count to 20 or 30. Say each number in the correct order as you count.
  • Have some fun whilst counting  by clicking on the counting songs below.
  • Can you right your own number line to 10? Try and form the numbers the correct way round.
  • We are going to use our number line to add. Remember how we jump forwards when adding.
  • Ask your adult to write an addition number sentence i.e. 4 + 3 = ? Start on number 4 and jump forward 3 places on your number line. Which number did you land on? Repeat with other number sentences. Remember to read your number sentence carefully each time before you start to jump. Count carefully the number of jumps, to make sure you do the correct number.

 

 

Learning Break - Have a healthy snack. At school we will be having our milk or water and our piece of fruit. Try out some of the activities in our learning break folder.

 

 

Session 2 Phonics

  • Can you say all the sounds of all the letters in the alphabet? Click on the song below to help you say the sounds.
  • We put sounds together to make words. Practise your blending skills by clicking on the link below.
  • Look at objects that you can see around you. Say the name of an item that you can see i.e. book. Say the sound that the item begins with i.e. book begins with the 'b' sound, apple begins with the 'a' sound, pen begins with the 'p' sound.
  • Have fun playing I Spy with your adult.
  • Remember the 'ai' sound from yesterday. Can you say the sound? Can you remember some of the words that have this sound i.e. rain, paint, train, stain, faint? Read the list of words from yesterday.
  • Today we are going to learn the 'ee' sound. Say the caption - What can you see? Look at the word 'see'.
  • Notice the digraph 'ee' in this word. Say the word and then write it. Now let's think together of other words that have this 'ee' sound i.e. keep, meet, feet, teeth, jeep. Make a list of the 'ee' words. 
  • Read the words on your list.
  • We are going to end our phonics lesson by singing our tricky word song.
Lunch break - We always have our lunch after our phonics lesson. Have a lovely lunch everyone - I hope you all enjoy your meal. When we have eaten our food we will be going outside to play some games and have some fresh air. 

Session 3 - Topic Focus

  • This week we are focussing on stories by our class author Nick Sharratt. Nick Sharratt is both an author and an illustrator. Yesterday we really enjoyed the story, 'Shark in the Park' and 'Ketchup on Your Cornflakes'.
  • Today we are going to focus on the story, 'Ketchup on Your Cornflakes'. Can you remember the story from yesterday? Talk to your adult about this book.
  • Let's read the story again by clicking on the link below.

 

  • After reading the story, can you say some of the funny sentences from the book. 
  • Can you see the question mark at the end of each sentence? Point to the question mark on each page.
  • Ask your adult some funny questions from the book i.e. Do you like a woolly hat in your lemonade? Do you like milk on your toes? make up some of your own funny questions to ask your adult.
  • Draw a picture to show one of the funny sentences from the book. Ask your adult to help you write a simple caption to accompany your picture.
  • Remember to ask your adult to email me some of your pictures. I always enjoy seeing your work.

Learning Break - We will be having a play outside and some fresh air in school. 

 

Session 4 -Singing

  • We love our daily singing lessons. Please use your charanga login to access our music site.
  • Can you remember the song from yesterday - 'Wind the Bobbin Up'? Let's do this song again with actions.
  • Can you sing some of the nursery rhymes that we know i.e. Humpty Dumpty, Baa Baa Black Sheep etc ? Try and do your actions to accompany each song.

 

Session 5 - Story

  • We always enjoy an end of day story. We are really enjoying our collection of stories by Nick Sharratt. 
  • Click on the link below to enjoy another story by our class author.
