  • Join in with the song below to help you understand doubling.
  • We are going to be using our Numicon today to help us understand doubling and learn the doubling number facts.
  • Use the Numicon slides below and say each doubling number sentence as you see it.
  • Have a go at writing some of your own doubling number sentences using the Numicon slides above to help you. Once you have written your double number sentence, read it to your adult.
  • When writing your numbers, try and remember the correct formation of each number.

Session 2 - Phonics

  • Join in with the digraph song below to help you learn some of the sounds we have been covering.
  • Let's remind ourselves of the trigraphs that we know - 'igh' and 'ear'. Watch the video below to revise these sounds.

  • Practise your blending skills - ask your adult to write words containing some of the sounds we have been covering i.e. ring, bath, fish, rich, near, light. Blend the sounds together and hear the word.
  • Practise your segmenting (spelling) skills - say a word i.e. moon and chop (segment) this into it's different sound components i.e. m -oo-n. Once you have chopped the word into it's sound parts, write it down. Repeat with other words.
  • Becoming confident at blending and segmenting using the sounds we have been learning, helps us to become confident readers and writers.
Lunch Time - Have a lovely lunch everyone and a well deserved learning break.

Session 3 - Topic Work

  • We are thinking about 'Dragons' this week and today in our topic work we are going to be using our imaginative and creative skills to make our own dragons.
  • Listen to the story below - 'Tell Me a Dragon' by Jackie Morris. Jackie Morris is both an author and illustrator and in this book she has created some wonderful dragons with fabulous descriptions. Look carefully at the illustrations and listen to the super describing words used by the author to create a picture of each dragon.

  • After listening to the story, we are going to create our own dragons. Think what kind of dragon you want to create - is it going to be a fearsome dragon or a friendly one?
  • We are going to draw, paint and create models of our dragons. We are going to use a variety of resources when creating our own dragons.
  • Let's get creative everyone and see what we can do. I look forward to seeing your finished pieces, so please ask your adult to email me a picture of these.

Session 4 - Singing

  • Share some of your favourite nursery rhymes with your adult. Try and do the actions as you sing along.
  • Use your Charanga login details and this week we are learning the song - 'Old Macdonald Had a Farm'.

Session 5 - Story
