Enjoy regular learning breaks throughout the day and try to be active. Carry out your daily reading activities at a time that suits you and your adult. Have a lovely day everyone and I hope you enjoy all the activities.

Session 1 - Mathematics

  • We are thinking about 1 more than in our Mathematics and we are using a number line to find the number that is 1 more than a given number. We are going to be jumping forwards as we are finding 1 more than. Watch the number line video below.
  • Use your number line to 10 or 20 and ask your adult to say a number i.e. which number is 1 more than 5? Which number comes after 13? etc. Use your number line to find the answer. If you are confident with numbers to 20 then work with larger numbers.
  • Use the vocabulary: 1 more than, after, next, jump forwards, add 1
  • Maybe you could make a large number line outdoors using chalk and jump forwards along it.
  • Enjoy the counting forwards songs below and notice each time which number comes next.

Session 2 - Phonics

  • Click on the sound mats below and say the sounds. How many sounds do you know? We are learning lots of new sounds and making super progress in our phonics.
  • We are going to be learning a new sound today - 'oi' - 'spoil the boy'. Click on the video below to learn the 'oi' sound.

  • Read the tricky words on the mat below. Notice which is the tricky part of each word.
  • Now we are going to spell these words. Ask your adult to say a word at a time and have a go at spelling them. Did you spell them all correctly?
Lunch Time - Have a lovely lunch everyone and an enjoyable learning break.
Session 3 - Topic Work
  • We are thinking about the story, 'The Three Little Pigs'. Discuss the story with your adult, remembering all the key events.
  • Listen to the story again if you wish, to make sure you got all the events in the right order.
  • Yesterday we chose a house to draw from the story and looked closely at the details and features of that house. Today choose a different house from the story to draw. Which material is it made from?
  • We are going to be displaying our work in the classroom, so please ask your adult to email your pictures to me and we can print these off in school and add your work to the classroom display. Thank-you

  • When writing, say your sentence aloud before starting to wrote and then remember the word order. Try and sound out your own words when writing.

Session 4 - Singing

  • Share some of your favourite nursery rhymes with your adult. Try and add some actions as you sing.
  • Enjoy some the nursery rhymes below. Can you think of your own actions?
