What will we learn?

We will learn what plants need in order to grow, thrive and survive. We will explore the life cycles of various plants that grow from seeds and bulbs and investigate how they change as they grow and develop.

To begin with we considered the things a plant needs to grow and mature, how plants in the wild get them, and how and why plant growers grow plants in nurseries and on farms.  We then conducted a simple comparative test to determine how light levels affect seed germination.  We planted our seeds and put half of them in a sunny, light spot in the classroom and half of them in a dark cupboard.  We will be observing the 2 sets of seeds as the weeks go by.
