Part of Every Child Matters Academy TrustPlease find below an overview of the core texts we use in our Literacy lessons in Reception class. These books are used as a way of 'hooking' children into drama, role-play, reading and writing activities. They are also used to develop language, vocabulary and conversational skills. After reading children are always encouraged to give their own opinions about the book and listen to and respect the thoughts and opinions of others.
The books are engaging with interesting themes and fabulous characters. Other books, poems and texts are used alongside these to support the learning and activities being undertaken.
