Part of Every Child Matters Academy TrustWe began this unit by identifying spam emails and what to do with them. We then looked at the important steps to follow in order to avoid receiving them.
We followed the rules for creating strong passwords and understood why having a strong password is really important.
We recognised when, why and how photographs we see online may have been edited. We identified the original image and then looked for evidence that they had been digitally altered.
Next, we chose a landscape photograph and digitally altered it by cropping, making the photo brighter or darker, changed the colour and added a filter.
We then had a discussion around not everything we see online is true. We explained how false photographs can make people feel bad about themselves.
