In this unit, we explore a playscript version of 'The Tempest'. Children have the chance to explore the themes, ideas and characters in the play, as well as writing opportunities, such as character descriptions and comparisons, scene/setting descriptions and diary entries. They then investigate the key features of playscripts, including dialogue, stage directions and action. They also explore the use of iambic pentameter and have a go at writing some of their own.
