PE

 

Year 4 will be going swimming starting from Monday 20th September for 19 weeks therefore children will need their swimming kit every week.  They also need to bring their PE kits every Wednesday.

Sports Hall Athletics

 

During half term 2, we have practicing our sports hall athletics. We have been practicing our sprinting and improving our starts as well as becoming better at passing the baton and working as a team in relay races. We have been practicing our hurdles technique too. We have been practicing long jump from a running and standing start, had a go at the triple jump (hop, skip and a jump) and practicing our speed bounce. At the end of our unit, we are going to have a class competition.

For the first half term, we are practicing our football skills. we started by practicing our dribbling skills.

In half term 5 we are practicing our gymnastic skills. In our first session, we focused on practicing different types of jumps. Here are a few examples of our work

In our next session we practiced and improved our rolls. Then we had a go putting a jump and roll together.

In our next sessions, we practiced linking our jumps and rolls together and practice handstands and head stands.

In half term 4, we practiced and improved our hockey skills. we Learnt how to hold the stick correctly, practiced passing and stopping the ball and how to dribble with the ball. We also had a few little games of hockey.
