Primary School

Part of Every Child Matters Academy Trust
H

SMSC and British Values

At Ladywood Primary we encourage children and provide opportunities to develop spiritual, moral, social and cultural awareness. This is facilitated through our curriculum, during assemblies, lunch times, playtimes and extra-curriculum activities.

We encourage our pupils to participate in and support good causes and charities. This reinforces that there are large numbers of people both at home and overseas who are much less fortunate than ourselves and who deserve our support.

So far this year we have:

  • We have voted for our school councillors who will help vote for things in our school.
  • We have raised money for Children in Need this year by dressing up, dancing in school and taking part in a whole school competition.
  • We have looked at why we celebrate anti- bullying week and wore odd socks to celebrate this day.
  • We have written poems to remember all those who have lost their lives in the deadly wars and our school councillors placed the wreath on the Cenotaph on remembrance Sunday
  • We have visited Crucial Crew where we have learned all about the laws of the country.

Remembrance Day

For Remembrance this week we created poems in our writing sessions about our memories of the war and how we remember our lost form all the conflict in the world. We also created art work that we sold to parents to raise money for this cause.

On remembrance Sunday our class school councillors placed the school wreath on the Cenotaph at the local church.

We dressed up for Children in Need as well as participated in dance routines to raise money for charity
