We would like to apologise to all parents for the delayed start this morning.

Unfortunately as we could not remove the main gate padlock (which had been deliberately damaged), we were unable to open at 9am as we were waiting for assistance to remove the padlock.

Access to the main drive is essential should we require the support of emergency services to keep our children safe.

  • School statement regarding the current redundancy consultation and planned strike action

    Wed 12 Sep 2018

Miss Clare Grainger, Headteacher at Ladywood Primary School, said: "Our school is facing a significant budget shortfall for 2019/2020. In the past, we've used different ways of limiting the financial impact upon the school without the need to consider reducing our staffing structure.

We've reached the point where we are unable to continue to operate within our financial budget and as a consequence, we've had to review our staffing structure. We are currently in a consultation period looking at the proposal to remove nine School Meals Supervisory Assistant posts from our school staffing structure.

This has not been an easy proposal to put forward, but it has the least impact upon the educational needs of our pupils.

We appreciate that this is a difficult time for those involved and we'll continue to support our employees and consult on proposals with recognised trade unions."
